Because it’s a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets all of our requirements for what a excellent mattress should have. With 8 unique layers of comfort and support, the DreamCloud utilizes all the proper materials in its build. Dreamcloud Nectar
From the tufted cashmere cover that provides great airflow, to the gel memory foam at the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud is designed to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Resting underneath are a mix of memory foam and latex layers, meaning this mattress contains better quality relaxation materials than most other hybrid mattresses.
Despite the fact that it uses numerous polyurethane foam layers, there’s not any significant contouring or hug to the mattress. If you’re looking to sink into a mattress, then the DreamCloud is probably not for you.
A pocketed coil support core keeps you aligned all night long, particularly so for for those of you who lay on your back.

Construction Dreamcloud Nectar
The DreamCloud has an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a humungous 15 inches. The 8-layer structure is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts, which operate in tandem to provide the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and lots of comfortable pressure relief. Dreamcloud Nectar
Given all of the unique materials at play , I’m excited to dive into these layers to see how well they interact together.
Cover – The cover is composed of a polyester and cashmere mix for a luxuriously soft feel up top. It’s also built with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with instant relaxation.
Foam Layers – Beneath the cover, you’ll find 3 thin layers of polyurethane. While these segments are soft to the touch and provide some satisfying sinkage, they also react quickly to pressure, so that you won’t feel trapped in the mattress. The center of these three layers is particularly important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is good at releasing heat, so the addition of these tiny ventilations encourages more cooling. Dreamcloud Nectar
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of foam transitions to the firmer support section of this mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs provide the mattress excellent rebound and help to spread motion throughout the mattress. The coils also help in moderating temperature as the distances between them allow for continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam is found at the bottom of the mattress, with the main function of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a solid foundation for the whole mattress.
After looking at the build of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the texture and firmness. I began by putting light hand pressure to the mattress and instantaneously felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and uppermost layers. My hand sunk into the material and I could feel some immediate pressure relief. Pushing in farther, I started to feel the pocketed coils below and felt a nice lift from the springs.
Now I want to note that people of distinct body shapes and types will feel firmness differently. Rather than giving only my opinion on the overall firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted 3 other people to give their opinion as well. This should give you a better feeling of the firmness range you can find from the mattress.
The testers were in agreement about the firmness of the mattress, giving it an average score of 7.75. Compared to the market norm of 6.5 for medium firmness and it is clear that this mattress is pretty firm.
I personally gave the mattress a 7.5 and concur with the other individuals that it’s definitely a good mattress. At the same time you will feel some slight sinking from the plush polyurethane top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the core will lift you out of this bed and make you feel like you are sleeping on top of the mattress, instead of in it.
Rather than just discussing the feel of the DreamCloud to you, I wanted to give a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do so, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my side, back, and stomach. You can see the results on the graph below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my back, my weight was equally distributed throughout the mattress, therefore I did not feel as though I was sinking into the mattress at all. The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar region and the pocketed coils helped to lift me out of the mattress and keep my spine in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, when I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming at my hips and shoulders. However, I felt supported, while the top foam layers relieved any distress I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my tummy, I believed that the DreamCloud did an awesome job of lifting my hips up and out of the mattress, which I think is key for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I managed to shift across these positions with comparative ease.
If you intend on sharing your bed with a spouse, you will want to find out what it will feel like if another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around during the night. This next experiment is meant to show you the amount of movement that’s detectable from one side of the mattress to the other.
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it caused: the larger the lines, the bigger the disturbance. Dreamcloud Nectar
The DreamCloud demonstrates a little bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates an individual tossing around and adjusting his/her position on the other side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly bigger spikes, I would still consider the mattress to be pretty good at isolating motion, as a result of the individually wrapped coils. This means that you’re not likely to be too disturbed by your bed mate’s midnight shimmies, making this an awesome solution for couples.
While purchasing a new mattress, most men and women would like to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the it or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, along with a 100 lb medicine ball) on the DreamCloud and quantified how much they compressed the surface of the mattress.
The differences in size, weight, and density are supposed to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you are going to encounter some immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you’ll hit the wrapped coils and feel amazing support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of individuals, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers in particular.
If you’ll be sharing your bed with someone and need to make use of the entire surface area of the mattress, then it’s likely to be important that you consider the level of edge support it will give you.
I’m particularly interested to see if the DreamCloud will endure the exact same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which cannot live up to the edge support of more conventional innerspring models.
Lying on my back, I felt just as supported at the edge of the mattress as I did at the middle. Going closer to the side, I experienced a bit of compression because of the top foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.
Changing to my side, I once again experienced compression in the foam layers, however, it didn’t carry over into the wrapped coil system beneath. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did an awesome job of supporting my weight.
In the last position, I wished to simulate what it’d feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you are lacing up your shoes and getting ready for work. Most foam mattresses undergo a lot of compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly good.
