What Add-ons Does Infant Optics DXR-8 Have To Offer?

Fully expandable (4 add on cameras to be exact) which you can place in various parts around the house. It’s easy to monitor all these parts with”scan mode” where you just view and toggle through from the screen.

Does Infant Optics DXR-8 Have Two-way Talk?

Allows a two-way talk intercom communication system which lets you talk to your baby or sing them a little lullaby should you need to calm them down without you getting out of bed. Offers different alarm functions, has a low battery indicator as well as power save mode.

How Do I Ensure the Safety and Security of My Baby with Infant Optics DXR-8?

Infant Optics DXR-8 functions on a non-WiFi platform where the sound & video footage never becomes vulnerable to hackers. Videos of your child will be completely safe and private because only you are able to see the delay-free footage of your child. This makes the stream much faster because it’s performance doesn’t depend on the WiFi speed. So that you don’t have to worry if your home WiFi is down. Infant Optics DXR-8 proves to be the ideal video baby camera. It is safe and easy to use no matter your level of technical knowledge. If you really prioritize your child’s safety and security, this is the baby monitor for you.

The Infant Optics DXR-8 And The Competition

Not all baby monitors are created equal. Not many baby monitors could be tilted or adjusted, let alone offer the remote Tilt & Pan Control that Infant Optics DXR-8 provides which I admit, should be a requirement for every baby monitor out there. Here are some baby monitors out in the market when compared with Infant Optics DXR-8:

Infant Optics DXR-8 VS. Cocoon Cam

Cocoon Cam‘s difference with Infant Optics DXR-8 is the monitoring of your baby’s breathing patterns and crying detection. It then sends all of that information to your smart phone. Cocoon Cam uses infrared light to monitor the rise and fall of your infant’s chest. This system closely tracks your child’s breathing patterns and monitor action. Installing the Cocoon Cam properly will be the most significant factor for getting the whole thing to work correctly. You can also speak to your baby through an integrated microphone.

Infant Optics DXR-8 VS. The Nanit Smart

The Nanit streams live video and audio to your smartphone so that you can see your child when you are away from home. You receive a notice on your smart phone, as soon as your child is awake, acting fussy or has fallen asleep.

The Nanit also assigns a sleep score to each night according to hours. Other stats show how long it took for the baby to fall asleep. All the stats are a part of Nanit Insights. Nanit Insights is a subscription-based service you get through the app. A one-year trial comes with your first purchase of this baby camera. Afterward, or for unlimited access to sleep and video data, it costs $100 each year.

The Nanit also lets you playback footage from the day. Infant Optics DXR-8 cannot capture video footage or take pictures from the video recording for you but these variables are not actually the purpose of baby monitors. Baby cameras are for real time streaming and knowing the condition of your child at present.

Infant Optics DXR-8 VS. Motorola MBP36XL

Infant Optics DXR-8 and Motorola MBP36XL both have the option to connect up to four cameras into the monitors. This is great for when you need to watch the children in multiple rooms. With Motorola MBP36XL you need to be mindful when turning the device on as it makes loud beeping sounds. You have to keep it out of earshot of sleeping babies. Additionally, with Motorola MBP36XL the battery life isn’t so great, unlike with Infant Optics DXR-8 where the battery life is awesome.Infant Optics Turn Off Beep

Infant Optics DXR-8 VS. Nest Cam

Infant Optics DXR-8 was made to be a baby camera while the Nest Cam is actually an all-around home protection device. Besides monitoring the infant, you can also use it to watch the babysitter, the pets or your empty house while you are away. Infant Optics DXR-8 is a non-WiFi baby monitor so you can only see the video on the respective screen. Benefit of opting for a non-WiFi baby monitor will be that the footage of your child doesn’t pass the world wide web so viewing is completely private to you. However, Nest Cam is WiFi based so you can watch the live streaming from your smartphone. However, you need to keep the Nest Cam app open and running continuously.

Infant Optics DXR-8 VS. Arlo Baby

The Arlo Baby is as adorable as Infant Optics DXR-8 is classy. It is the cutest baby camera for a smart-home. It has a changeable look, like removable rubber bunny ears and feet that can be switched to a kitten or puppy look. (extra $20 per critter) What Arlo Baby can provide that Infant Optics DXR-8 does not is the color-changing nightlight which is a nice touch. It also has an app that includes six lullabies and three white-noise sounds to play over the speaker. You may even record your own voice singing for your baby to hear. With Infant Optics DXR-8, you do not get an app as it’s a non-WiFi baby camera. You Also cannot rewatch footage or take screenshots on the Infant Optics DXR-8. On the Arlo app you have seven days of cloud storage for both videos and snapshots without a subscription fee. You also get notifications when the room is too hot or too cold.

Infant Optics DXR-8 VS. Summer Infant

The only problem with all the Summer Infant monitors is the fact that it’s so hard to figure out which one has the features and quality you actually want, given the very wide range of options. Separate cameras for different features. Summer Infant is of high quality and dependable but it has so much choices you do not know which mix best works for you. Examples of their products are Panorama Digital Color Video Monitor, Baby Secure Pan, Scan, Zoom Video Monitor, etc.. Also, even though the display is nice and big, the digital video quality is subpar compared to Infant Optics DXR-8. For roughly the same cost, we would just go with the Infant Optics DXR-8 if you don’t really want the larger screen size.

Infant Optics DXR-8 VS. Project Nursery 5″ HD Baby Monitor System with Mini Monitor

Infant Optics DXR-8 has almost all the same features Project Nursery has. Awesome battery life, remote pan and tilt and also option to pair 4 cameras. Although, when it comes to features, Project Nursery really pulled out all the stops with their baby monitor such as infrared night vision, secure (encrypted 2.4GHz) wireless connection, movement alerts, lullaby music and convenient unobtrusive sleep modes that Infant Optics DXR-8 does not include in theirs. And even with all that, it also, comes with a 1.5″ mini video screen (with strap!). Both cameras have a very long battery life and remote pan and tilt but cannot be viewed at the same time.

Infant Optics DXR-8 VS. Philips Avent

Quite like the Infant Optics DXR-8’s option to turn off the screen and stream only sound, Philips Avent has ECO mode. ECO mode saves battery in the display unit by shutting off the screen and audio. Only when it detects a sound coming from your baby will it turn on to alert you. This is a great feature so you don’t receive false alarms and you save battery. Infant Optics DXR-8 provides you as a parent the choice to use it like an audio-only baby monitor. If you are cleaning or cooking, or simply taking a break on the couch, you can still monitor your baby without having the screen on at all times. This really conserves battery life and the device will last for up to 10 hours. In a way, this also functions as a “power saving mode”. Also, The Philips Avent doesn’t allow you to add multiple cameras, and the video quality is not quite at par with Infant Optics DXR-8.

Infant Optics DXR-8 VS. Samsung SafeVIEW Baby Monitoring System

The Infant Optics DXR-8 does not have a nightlight or a sound sensitive monitor but if you want those, the Samsung SafeVIEW has them! Built-in nightlight which you can turn on and off using the monitor. The sound sensitive tracker is sensitive enough to pick up your baby’s movements and sounds. This turns the screen on but you can decrease its audio sensitivity to not pick up the background noise. As Infant Optics DXR-8 has good battery life, the Samsung SafeVIEW screen battery drains quickly. You might need to often plug it in to recharge.

How Is The Infant Optics DXR-8 Warranty and Customer Care

Infant Optics DXR-8 offers a full year of protection from defective parts. You can get in touch with their technical support staff who are available 7-days a week. You certainly get a fast reply and helpful answers to any on your queries.

How Can I Make Infant Optics DXR-8 Work For Me?

Every baby is different, so how can you make Infant Optics DXR-8 best suit you and your baby? The interchangeable lens feature allows you to switch lenses depending on the view you prefer when monitoring your baby. This customizable feature is perfect because you know what is best for your baby. Even though it doesn’t have pre-recorded lullabies built-in the monitor, it still has a two-way talk feature so that you can still comfort your baby through this. Extra cameras can also be utilized for the full surveillance of your child, you may add on a total of 4 cameras. And even though Infant Optics DXR-8 does not take snapshots from the footage, its realtime crystal clear videos also doubles as a home surveillance system. This makes Infant Optics DXR-8 still a high-end baby camera.
