Nectar Sleep sells a memory foam mattress with better quality foam materials relative to its rivals at a far lower cost. Don’t be fooled into believing the Nectar mattress isn’t of the same quality as the Casper or Leesa — it very much is. Memory Foam Mattress Topper Next Day Delivery
Having gel memory foam quilted into the bottom of the cover and also a layer of memory foam under, the Nectar contours well, but doesn’t have the same hug often associated with memory foam beds. Both the gel memory foam and the absence of sink-in feel mean the Nectar sleeps significantly cooler than many memory foam models.
A support core composed of high-density polyfoam is built to withstand the test of time. Given its makeup, we project the Nectar to last at least 7-8 years, which makes it a lasting option.
The Nectar is hard to beat at this price, so if you’re searching for a reasonable bed built with quality materials, your search can end here.

Brand Snapshot Memory Foam Mattress Topper Next Day Delivery
Since its founding, Nectar Sleep has used a clever strategy of cheeky advertising and concentrated product development to evolve into one of the biggest competitors in the online bed-in-a-box market. Memory Foam Mattress Topper Next Day Delivery
Considering its prevalence, the brand is often compared to Casper and Purple, two giants in the Direct-to-Consumer mattress market. Though all 3 mattresses have considerably distinct feels (which I’ll dissect in full later on in this review), they do gain from a similar amount of name recognition and notoriety on sites likes ours and Reddit.
It’s worth noting that at $699 for a Queen, the Nectar is far more affordable than the Casper or the Purple, both of which come in at roughly $1,000.

Construction Memory Foam Mattress Topper Next Day Delivery
Let us begin with the Nectar mattress review. As I mentioned previously, this is an all-foam mattress composed of three different layers that pile up to an 11″ profile. The most notable aspect of the Nectar’s construction is the whopping 4″ of memory foam up top, which leads to a considerable amount of body contouring and sinkage.
To see how this comes together, let’s dive into the mattress!
Nectar Mattress Layers
Cover – The cover is comprised of both cotton and Tencel,
an eco-friendly material famous for its softness and breathability. Furthermore, there’s an inch of gel memory foam quilted into the cover, which provides the sleeper with some instant comfort. The combination of the gel infusion and Tencel fibers make for an ultra-cool coating which will help regulate temperatures during the night.
Comfort Layer – Directly below the cover, you’ll find 3″ of memory foam. This material has a remarkably slow reaction to stress, letting the sleeper to really sink in for some satisfying pressure relief. As the foam contours to the curves of your body, you’re likely to feel as though you’re sleeping more”in” the bed than”on top” of it, which could be a nice feel for side sleepers needing cushiony support at the shoulders and hips.
Transition Layer – Up next you’ll find a transitional layer of memory foam, which has a slightly quicker response to pressure than the foams above it. This section is supposed to ease the sleeper into the firmer foundation below, helping to extend the contouring of the comfort layer deeper into the mattress.
Foundation Layer – Rounding out the construction we’ve got 6″ of high-density poly foam. This section provides the mattress its stability and shape, providing a firm foundation upon which the softer foams will respond.
After having a look at the construction of the Nectar, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by applying some light hand pressure into the mattress and discovered that I was immediately interacting with the thick layers of memory foam up top. I could feel myself sinking into the mattress, with the gentle foams contouring around my palms. Pushing in further, I experienced even deeper sinkage into the mattress.
Since folks of different body types and sizes will feel firmness differently, I made a decision to bring in three other testers to check out the Nectar Sleep mattress. All of us took a turn lying on the mattress, and gave it a personal rating, then compiled them onto the graph below.
While texture is always likely to be a personal thing, our responses should provide you with a good idea of the firmness range you can expect from the mattress.
Though there was a little discrepancy with our responses, we did finish on an average firmness rating of 6.5, which syncs perfectly with the market standard for medium firmness.
I personally gave the Nectar a 6 as I found its thick memory foam layers gave a gentle, pressure-relieving vibe. Regardless of the position, I stretched out in, I could feel the mattress contouring to the shape of my body, resulting in some pretty intense sinkage. While this translated to a softer rating for me, a few sleepers may find memory foam to produce a firmer feel as their bodies gradually acclimate to its morphing contour.
Another important component of a new bed’s feel is pressure, or more specifically where pressure points are likely to shape while lying on top of it.
To help you picture where these pressure points might arise, I put a pressure map above the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You can find the results on the image below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Lying on my back, I felt some great pressure relief as the soft memory foam top layers contoured into my entire body and filled in the space in my thoracic region. Even though you might find memory foam to have an initially firm feel, once you provide your body a few minutes to sink in, you will discover that it’s actually quite giving. A trade off for this gratifying pressure relief is that I did find it a bit difficult to move around and change positions. Memory Foam Mattress Topper Next Day Delivery
Edge Support – Testing out the edge support on this mattress, I did detect some compression in the soft foam top layers. But, the high-density poly foam foundation did a good job of supporting my weight in this position, which enabled me to feel secure on the side of the mattress.
Side – Turning on my side, I continued to feel fantastic pressure relief from this mattress. Side sleepers tend to favor softer mattresses which contour snuggly into the shoulders and hips, and the Nectar more than delivers on this front.
Stomach – Unfortunately, this comfort did not necessarily carry over when I rolled onto my stomach. The thick layers of memory foam caused my hips to sink out of alignment with my shoulders, which made for some tension along my spine. Overall, stomach sleepers typically opt for firmer mattresses, so I wasn’t too surprised by this result.
Next, let us take a look at motion transfer. This test will demonstrate the quantity of disturbance detectable from one side of the bed to the other, which might be particularly critical for those who share their mattress with a partner.
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then measured the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
FYI: Every drop is meant to symbolize a different movement you’re most likely to encounter in bed, from tossing and turning (4″) to getting out of bed (8″) all the way to full on jumping (12″).
These are amazing motion transfer outcomes! The thick layers of memory foam up top work to dampen movement throughout the structure, ensuring that you won’t be overly bothered by your bed partner’s tossing and turning in the evening.
When purchasing a new bed, the majority of men and women want to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying”on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I placed four balls of different densities and sizes (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 lb medicine ball) on the bed and measured how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, weight and density are supposed to mimic different body components and different sized sleepers.
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1 inch of sinkage. Memory Foam Mattress Topper Next Day Delivery
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 3.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 6 inches of sinkage.
I honestly believed these results would be a bit more intense! As I moved around the Nectar, I was surprised by how much my body sank into the memory foam top layers, so it is kind of surprising to find that the actual measurements are consistent with those of other all-foam mattresses on the market. That said, you’re still more likely to feel like you’re sleeping “in” the Nectar instead of “on top” of it.

The Nectar Mattress vs The Competition
Now that we have broken down the specific, nitty-gritty details of the Nectar, let us widen the scope and have a peek at a few of its biggest competitors in the game. While every mattress has unique features which make it a distinctive product in the space, it may be useful to contextualize these differences against other mattresses. Plus, who does not love a tiny cross-referencing prior to making a large purchase?
Nectar vs Purple
Comparing Nectar and Purple is like comparing oranges and apples — both are great in their own right, but inherently different products.
– One of the very noticeable differences comes in the Purple’s hyper-elastic polymer comfort layer. Unlike memory foam, this is a really bouncy material that provides pressure relief without too much body contouring.
– The hyper-elastic polymer grid also makes the Purple”temperature neutral”, resulting in a far cooler sleeping experience compared to Nectar.
– And finally, wherein the Nectar has practically no bounce, the Purple has a tremendous quantity of buoyant support.
Nectar vs Casper
Although the Casper and Nectar are constructed completely of foam, they really have incredibly divergent feels, with the latter featuring much more sinkage compared to the former.
– Also, one of the standout attributes of the Casper is its section of Zoned Support, which brings targeted relief to the shoulders and hips.
– This also means the Casper has a more balanced texture than the Nectar, endearing it to a wider selection of sleepers.
Everything Else You Need To Know About Nectar
Does It Sleep Hot?
Unlike most other memory foam mattresses that tend to sleep a little hot, the Nectar provides a high amount of cooling. The top layer of gel memory foam, paired together with the infused cover keeps it cool, while giving maximum comfort.
With the Nectar being a high density foam, some could find it a little warmer than a coil, latex, or hybrid foam mattress.
Overall, our research did show that the Nectar is most definitely one of the cooler memory foam mattresses on the market today.
Does It Have Any Smell?
Fresh from the box, the mattress is going to have a fairly powerful odor for the first two days. After this, the smell starts to fade, and within a week is completely gone.
So, if the smell is something that actually bothers you, I suggest maybe not sleeping on it for the first two days.Memory Foam Mattress Topper Next Day Delivery
Does It Require A Foundation?
The Nectar mattress could be sat right on a box spring. Or if you want, a platform or any other flat supportive surface. It can also be used with any adjustable bed frame, that can fit an 11′ mattress.
You can even use the Nectar right on the floor if that’s what you’d prefer to do. Just make sure there is not any water or moisture around.
What Is The Best Way To Take Care Of Your Nectar?
The Nectar requires no flipping. But, it’s suggested that you rotate the mattress perhaps one or two times a year to prevent it from excessive sagging or from wearing down.
For regular cleaning, it’s suggested to use cool water with mild dish detergent, to clean any dirt or stains. Always clean using gentle circular motions, instead of rubbing.
How Durable Is The Nectar Mattress?
In comparison to other foam mattresses, the Nectar based on our studies has a very long lifespan.
The Nectar is manufactured with premium quality materials and meets all industry standards. According to our research, the Nectar scores an 80% owner satisfaction rating and continues to grow in popularity today.

Is the Nectar Mattress Right For You?
Now that we’ve taken a closer look at the bed, I want to give you a few recommendations and some of the most common Nectar complaints:
– First and foremost, I would recommend the Nectar for anyone who wants that classic memory foam feel, deep body contouring and all.
– More importantly, I’d say this mattress could be a real winner for side sleepers, that will gain from its cushiony pressure relief at the shoulders and buttocks.
– Considering its excellent motion transfer and edge support results, I would also say the Nectar could be a good choice for couples.
– While a great deal of people will dig the thick layers of memory foam in this mattress, I would say that tummy sleepers may find that it pushes their hips out of alignment with their shoulders.
– Additionally, it has almost no bounce, which could be a dealbreaker for all those sleepers in search of buoyant support.
