Nectar Sleep sells a memory foam mattress using better quality foam materials relative to its rivals at a far lower cost. Do not be tricked into thinking the Nectar mattress is not of similar caliber as the Casper or Leesa — it very much is. Nectar Mattress Google Reviews
Having gel memory foam built into the bottom of the cover and a layer of memory foam beneath, the Nectar shapes well, but does not have the same hug frequently associated with memory foam beds. Both the gel memory foam along with the lack of sink-in feel mean the Nectar sleeps considerably cooler than most memory foam models.
A support core composed of high-density polyfoam is made to withstand the test of time. Given its construct, we project the Nectar to survive at least 7-8 years, which makes it a lasting choice.
The Nectar is hard to beat at this price, so if you’re searching for a reasonable mattress constructed with quality materials, your search can end here.

Brand Snapshot Nectar Mattress Google Reviews
Since its founding, Nectar Sleep has used a smart strategy of cheeky advertising and focused product development to evolve into one of the biggest competitors in the online bed-in-a-box market. Nectar Mattress Google Reviews
Considering its popularity, the brand is often compared to Purple and Casper, two giants in the Direct-to-Consumer mattress market. Though all three mattresses have substantially distinct feels (which I will dissect in full later in this review), they do gain from a similar amount of brand recognition and notoriety on websites likes ours and Reddit.
It’s worth noting that at $699 for a Queen, the Nectar is more affordable than the Casper or the Purple, both of which come in at about $1,000.

Construction Nectar Mattress Google Reviews
Let us begin with the Nectar bed review. As I mentioned previously, this is an all-foam mattress composed of three different layers which pile up to an 11″ profile. The most notable component of the Nectar’s construction is its humungous 4″ of memory foam on top, which results in a considerable amount of body contouring and sinkage.
To see how all this comes together, let us dive into the mattress!
Nectar Mattress Layers
Cover – The cover is comprised of both cotton and Tencel,
an eco friendly substance known for its breathability and softness. Furthermore, there’s an inch of gel memory foam quilted into the cover, which provides the sleeper with some instant relaxation. The combination of the Tencel fibers and gel infusion make for an ultra-cool coating which will help regulate temperatures throughout the night.
Comfort Layer – Right under the cover, you will encounter 3″ of memory foam. This material has a remarkably slow response to stress, allowing the sleeper to really sink in for some satisfying pressure relief. As the foam shapes to the curves of your body, you are likely to feel as though you are sleeping more”in” the bed compared to”on top” of it, which may be a pleasant feel for side sleepers in need of cushiony support at the shoulders and buttocks.
Transition Layer – Up next you’ll find a transitional layer of memory foam, which has a marginally quicker reaction to pressure compared to the foams above it. This section is meant to alleviate the sleeper into the firmer foundation below, helping to extend the shaping of the comfort layer deeper into the mattress.
Foundation Layer – Rounding out the construction we’ve got 6 inches of high-density poly foam. This section provides the mattress its firmness and contour, providing a firm foundation upon which the softer foams can respond.
After having a look at the construction of the Nectar, let’s chat about the firmness and feel. I started off by putting some light hand pressure to the mattress and discovered that I was immediately interacting with the thick layers of memory foam up top. I could feel myself sinking into the Nectar, with all the gentle foams contouring around my palms. Pushing in further, I experienced deeper sinkage into the mattress.
Since folks of different body types and sizes are going to feel stability differently, I made a decision to bring in three other testers to have a look at the Nectar Sleep mattress. All of us took a turn lying on the mattress, and gave it a personal rating, and then compiled them onto the chart below.
While texture is always likely to be a personal thing, our answers should provide you with a good notion of the firmness range you may expect from the mattress.
Although there was a little discrepancy with our responses, we did finish on an average firmness rating of 6.5, which syncs perfectly with the industry standard for medium firmness.
Personally, I gave the Nectar a 6 because I found its thick memory foam layers produced a gentle, pressure-relieving vibe. Irrespective of the position, I stretched out in, I could feel the material contouring to the shape of my body, leading to some pretty intense sinkage. While this translated to a softer rating for mepersonally, some sleepers could find memory foam to provide a firmer sense as their bodies gradually acclimate into its morphing shape.
Another important component of a new bed’s feel is pressure, or more specifically where pressure points are most likely to shape while lying on top of it.
To help you visualize where these pressure points might crop up, I placed a pressure map above the mattress and lied on my back, side, and tummy. You can see the results on the image below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Lying on my back, I felt some fantastic pressure relief as the soft memory foam top layers shaped to my body and filled in the space at my lumbar region. While you may find memory foam to have an initially firm feel, as soon as you give your body a few minutes to sink through it, you’ll find that it’s actually quite giving. A trade off for this gratifying pressure relief is that I did find it a bit hard to move around and change positions. Nectar Mattress Google Reviews
Edge Support – Testing the edge support of this bed, I did detect some compression through the soft foam top layers. But, the high-density poly foam base did a good job of supporting my weight in this position, which allowed me to feel safe on the side of the Nectar.
Side – Turning on my side, I continued to feel fantastic pressure relief from this bed. Side sleepers tend to favor softer mattresses which shape snuggly to the shoulders and hips, and the Nectar more than delivers on that front.
Stomach – Regrettably, this comfort did not necessarily carry over when I rolled onto my stomach. The thick layers of memory foam caused my hips to sink from alignment with my shoulders, which made for a little tension along my spine. Overall, stomach sleepers typically opt for firmer mattresses, therefore I wasn’t overly surprised by this outcome.
Next, let’s take a look at motion transfer. This test will demonstrate the quantity of disturbance detectable from one side of the bed to the other, which could be especially important for those of you who share their mattress with a partner.
To demonstrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then measured the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
FYI: Every drop is meant to symbolize a different movement you’re likely to encounter in bed, from tossing and turning (4″) to getting out of bed (8″) all the way to full on jumping (12″).
These are incredible motion transfer results! The thick layers of memory foam up top work to dampen movement across the structure, making sure that you won’t be too bothered by your mattress mate’s tossing and turning in the evening.
When purchasing a new bed, the majority of people wish to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying”on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed four balls of different sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 lb medicine ball) on the bed and measured how much they compacted the top.
The variations in size, weight and density are supposed to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers.
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1 inch of sinkage. Nectar Mattress Google Reviews
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 3.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 6 inches of sinkage.
I honestly thought these results would be a bit more intense! As I rolled around the Nectar, I was struck by how much my body sank into the memory foam top layers, so it is sort of surprising to see that the actual measurements are consistent with those of other all-foam mattresses on the marketplace. That being said, you are still more likely to feel like you’re sleeping “in” the Nectar instead of “on top” of it.

The Nectar Mattress vs The Competition
Now that we have broken down the particular, nitty-gritty details of the Nectar, let’s widen the scope and have a peek at a few of its main competitors in the game. While each mattress has unique characteristics that make it a distinctive product in the space, it can be useful to contextualize these differences against other beds. Plus, who does not love a tiny cross-referencing prior to making a large purchase?
Nectar vs Purple
Comparing Nectar and Purple is like comparing apples and oranges — both are lovely in their own right, but fundamentally different products.
– One of the very noticeable distinctions comes in the Purple’s hyper-elastic polymer comfort layer. Unlike memory foam, this is a bouncy material that offers pressure relief without an excessive amount of body contouring.
– The hyper-elastic polymer grid additionally makes the Purple”temperature neutral”, resulting in a far cooler sleeping experience compared to Nectar.
– And finally, where the Nectar has virtually no bounce, the Purple has a tremendous quantity of buoyant support.
Nectar vs Casper
While both the Casper and Nectar are constructed entirely of foam, they really have unbelievably divergent feels, with the latter featuring much more sinkage than the former.
– Additionally, one of the standout attributes of the Casper is its section of Zoned Support, which provides targeted relief to the shoulders and hips.
– This also means that the Casper has a more balanced texture compared to the Nectar, endearing it to a larger range of sleepers.
Everything Else You Need To Know About Nectar
Does It Sleep Hot?
Unlike most other memory foam mattresses that tend to sleep a little warm, the Nectar offers a high amount of cooling. The top layer of gel memory foam, paired with the infused cover keeps the temperature cool, while giving maximum comfort.
With the Nectar being a high density foam, some may find it a little warmer than a coil, latex, or hybrid foam mattress.
In general, our study did show that the Nectar is definitely one of the cooler memory foam mattresses in the marketplace today.
Does It Have Any Smell?
Fresh out of the box, the mattress is going to have a fairly powerful odor for the first 2 days. But after, the smell starts to fade, and within a week is completely gone.
So, if the odor is something that actually bothers you, then I suggest not sleeping on it for the first couple days.Nectar Mattress Google Reviews
Does It Require A Foundation?
The Nectar could be sat right on a box spring. Or if you want, a platform or almost any other flat supportive surface. It can also be used with any adjustable bed frame, which can fit an 11 inch mattress.
You can also use the Nectar directly on the ground if that’s what you’d like to do. Just be certain that there isn’t any water or moisture around.
What Is The Best Way To Take Care Of Your Nectar?
The Nectar requires no flipping. However, it is suggested that you rotate the mattress possibly once or twice per year to stop it from excessive sagging or from wearing down.
For regular cleaning, it is advised to use cool water with mild dish soap, to clean any dirt or stains. Always clean using gentle circular motions, rather than rubbing.

Is the Nectar Mattress Appropriate For You?
Now that we’ve taken a closer look at the mattress, I want to give you a few recommendations and some of the very common Nectar complaints:
– First and foremost, I would suggest the Nectar for everyone who desires that classic memory foam feel, deep body shaping and all.
– More specifically, I would say this mattress could be a real winner for side sleepers, who will gain from its cushiony pressure relief in the shoulders and hips.
– Considering its excellent motion transfer and edge support outcomes, I’d also say the Nectar could be a good pick for couples.
– While a lot of folks will dig the thick layers of memory foam in this bed, I would say that tummy sleepers may find that it pushes their hips out of alignment with their shoulders.
– Additionally, it has virtually no rebound, which might be a dealbreaker for all those sleepers in search of buoyant support.
