Nectar Sleep sells a memory foam mattress with better quality foam materials relative to its competitors at a much lower price. Do not be tricked into thinking the Nectar mattress isn’t of the same quality as the Casper or Leesa — it very much is. Where To Find Nectar Bed
Using gel memory foam quilted into the bottom of the cover and also a layer of memory foam under, the Nectar contours well, but doesn’t have the exact same hug frequently associated with memory foam beds. Both the gel memory foam and the lack of sink-in feel mean the Nectar sleeps significantly cooler than many memory foam models.
A support core consisting of high-density polyfoam is made to withstand the test of time. Given its construct, we project the Nectar to survive at least 7-8 years, making it a lasting choice.
The Nectar is hard to beat at this price, so if you’re looking for a reasonable bed built with quality materials, your search can end here.

Brand Snapshot Where To Find Nectar Bed
Since its founding, Nectar Sleep has employed a clever strategy of cheeky marketing and focused product development to evolve into one of the greatest competitors in the online bed-in-a-box marketplace. Where To Find Nectar Bed
Considering its popularity, the brand is often compared to Purple and Casper, two giants in the Direct-to-Consumer mattress market. Though all 3 mattresses have considerably distinct feels (which I will dissect in full later in this review), they do gain from a similar amount of brand recognition and notoriety on websites likes ours and Reddit.
It’s worth noting that at $699 for a Queen, the Nectar is far less expensive than the Casper or the Purple, each of which come in at about $1,000.

Construction Where To Find Nectar Bed
Let’s get started with the Nectar mattress review. As I mentioned previously, this is an all-foam mattress made up of three different layers which stack up to an 11″ profile. The most notable component of the Nectar’s construction is its humungous 4″ of memory foam on top, which leads to a considerable amount of body contouring and sinkage.
To see how all this comes together, let’s dive into the mattress!
Nectar Mattress Layers
Cover – The cover is comprised of both cotton and Tencel,
an eco friendly material famous for its softness and breathability. Additionally, there’s an inch of gel memory foam built into the cover, which provides the sleeper with some immediate comfort. The combo of the Tencel fibers and gel infusion make for an ultra-cool coating that’ll help regulate temperatures throughout the night.
Comfort Layer – Directly below the cover, you will find 3″ of memory foam. This material has an incredibly slow reaction to stress, allowing the sleeper to really sink in for some gratifying pressure relief. As the foam contours to the curves of your body, you are likely to feel as though you’re sleeping more”in” the bed compared to”on top” of it, which could be a nice feel for side sleepers in need of cushiony support at the shoulders and hips.
Transition Layer – Next you are going to find a transitional layer of memory foam, which has a slightly quicker reaction to pressure compared to the foams above it. This section is meant to alleviate the sleeper into the firmer foundation under, helping extend the contouring of the comfort layer deeper into the mattress.
Foundation Layer – Rounding out the construction we have got 6″ of high-density poly foam. This section gives the bed its stability and shape, offering a firm foundation upon which the softer foams will respond.
After having a look at the construction of the Nectar, let us talk about the firmness and texture. I started off by putting some light hand pressure into the mattress and discovered I was immediately interacting with all the thick layers of memory foam up top. I could feel myself sinking into the Nectar, with the gentle foams contouring round my palms. Pushing in further, I experienced deeper sinkage into the mattress.
Since people of different body types and sizes are going to feel firmness differently, I made a decision to bring in three other testers to check out the Nectar Sleep mattress. We all took turns lying on the mattress, and gave it a personal evaluation, then compiled them on the graph below.
While feel is always going to be a personal thing, our answers should provide you with a good idea of the firmness range you may expect from the mattress.
Though there was a little discrepancy with our answers, we did finish on an average firmness rating of 6.5, which syncs perfectly with the industry standard for moderate firmness.
Personally, I gave the Nectar a 6 as I found its thick memory foam layers produced a gentle, pressure-relieving vibe. Regardless of the position, I stretched out in, I could feel the material contouring to the shape of my body, leading to some pretty awesome sinkage. While this translated to a softer rating for mepersonally, a few sleepers may find memory foam to produce a firmer feel as their bodies gradually acclimate to its morphing contour.
Another important part of a new mattress’s feel is pressure, or more specifically where pressure points are most likely to form while lying on top of it.
To help you picture where these pressure points may arise, I placed a pressure map on top of the bed and lied on my back, side, and tummy. You can find the results on the chart below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Lying on my back, I felt some great pressure relief as the soft memory foam top layers shaped to my entire body and filled in the space in my thoracic region. While you may find memory foam to have an initially firm feel, as soon as you give your body a few minutes to sink in, you’ll discover that it’s actually quite giving. A trade off to this gratifying pressure relief is that I did find it a bit hard to move around and change positions. Where To Find Nectar Bed
Edge Support – Testing the edge support on this bed, I did discover some compression in the soft foam top layers. However, the high-density poly foam foundation did a good job of supporting my weight in this position, which allowed me to feel secure on the side of the bed.
Side – Turning on my side, I continued to feel great pressure relief from this mattress. Side sleepers tend to prefer softer mattresses that shape snuggly into the shoulders and buttocks, and the Nectar more than delivers on that front.
Stomach – Regrettably, this comfort didn’t necessarily carry over when I rolled onto my belly. The thick layers of memory foam caused my hips to sink out of alignment with my shoulders, which made for a little tension along my spine. Overall, stomach sleepers usually opt for firmer mattresses, so I wasn’t overly surprised by this outcome.
Up next, let us take a look at motion transfer. This test will demonstrate the quantity of disturbance detectable from one side of the mattress to the other, which might be especially critical for those of you who share their bed with a partner.
To demonstrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it generated: the larger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
FYI: Each drop is meant to symbolize a different movement you are likely to experience in bed, from tossing and turning (4″) to getting out of bed (8″) all the way to full on jumping (12″).
These are amazing motion transfer results! The thick layers of memory foam up top work to dampen movement across the structure, making sure you will not be overly bothered by your mattress partner’s tossing and turning in the night.
When buying a new mattress, the majority of people want to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking “into” the mattress or lying”on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress and measured how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are meant to mimic different body components and different sized sleepers.
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1 inch of sinkage. Where To Find Nectar Bed
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 3.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 6 inches of sinkage.
I honestly thought these results would be a little more intense! As I rolled around the Nectar, I was surprised by just how much my body sank into the memory foam top layers, so it’s sort of surprising to see that the actual measurements are consistent with those of other all-foam mattresses on the market. That being said, you are still more likely to feel like you are sleeping “in” the Nectar as opposed to “on top” of it.

The Nectar Mattress vs The Competition
Now that we have broken down the specific, nitty-gritty details of the Nectar, let us expand the scope and take a look at a few of its biggest competitors in the game. While every bed has unique features that make it a different product in the space, it may be useful to contextualize these distinctions against other beds. Plus, who doesn’t love a little cross-referencing prior to making a large purchase?
Nectar vs Purple
Comparing Purple and Nectar is like comparing apples and oranges — both are great in their own right, but fundamentally different goods.
– Among the very noticeable distinctions comes in the Purple’s hyper-elastic polymer comfort layer. Unlike memory foam, this is a really bouncy material that provides pressure relief without an excessive amount of body contouring.
– This hyper-elastic polymer grid additionally makes the Purple”temperature neutral”, leading to a far cooler sleeping experience than the Nectar.
– And lastly, where the Nectar has virtually no bounce, the Purple has a tremendous amount of buoyant support.
Nectar vs Casper
Although the Casper and Nectar are built entirely of foam, they actually have unbelievably divergent feels, with the latter featuring considerably more sinkage compared to the former.
– Additionally, one of the standout attributes of the Casper is its section of Zoned Support, which brings targeted relief to the shoulders and hips.
– This means the Casper has a more balanced feel compared to the Nectar, endearing it to a wider range of sleepers.
Everything Else You Need To Know About Nectar
Does It Sleep Hot?
Unlike most other memory foam mattresses that generally sleep a bit warm, the Nectar provides a high level of cooling. The top layer of gel memory foam, paired with the infused cover keeps the temperature cool, while providing maximum comfort.
Because the Nectar is a high density foam, some may find it somewhat warmer than a hybrid, coil, or latex foam mattress.
Overall, our research did show that the Nectar is definitely one of the cooler memory foam mattresses on the market today.
Does It Have Any Smell?
Fresh out of the box, the mattress will have a fairly powerful odor for the first two days. But after, the odor starts to fade, and in just a week is completely gone.
So, if the odor is something which actually bothers you, I suggest not sleeping on it for the first two days.Where To Find Nectar Bed
Does It Require A Foundation?
The Nectar could be sat right on a box spring. Or if you prefer, a platform or any other flat supportive surface. It can also be utilized with any adjustable bed frame, that can fit an 11 inch mattress.
You can also use the Nectar right on the floor if that is what you’d like to do. Just be certain that there isn’t any water or moisture around.
What Is The Best Way To Take Care Of The Nectar?
The Nectar needs no flipping. But, it’s recommended that you rotate the mattress perhaps once or twice a year to stop it from excessive sagging or from wearing down.
For routine cleaning, it’s suggested to use cool water along mild dish detergent, to clean any dirt or stains. Always wash using gentle circular motions, rather than rubbing.

Is the Nectar Mattress Appropriate For You?
Now that we’ve taken a closer look at the bed, I am going to give you a few recommendations and some of the most common Nectar complaints:
– First and foremost, I would recommend the Nectar for everyone who wants that classic memory foam feel, deep body contouring and all.
– More importantly, I’d say this mattress could be a real winner for side sleepers, that will gain from its cushiony pressure relief in the shoulders and hips.
– Considering its superb motion transfer and edge support results, I’d also say the Nectar might be a solid pick for couples.
– While a lot of folks will enjoy the thick layers of memory foam in this mattress, I’d say that tummy sleepers may find that it pushes their hips out of alignment with their shoulders.
– It also has virtually no rebound, which could be a dealbreaker for those sleepers in search of some buoyant support.
